The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Tecqnova, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimizing data infrastructure, ETL pipelines, and cloud analytics solutionsfor enterprise clients.

You will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work with cutting-edge technologies such as Python, PySpark, Databricks, Azure Data Services, Snowflake, and SQL. This role is ideal for professionals seeking flexible, contract-based engagements while contributing to high-impact client projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/data pipelines using Python and PySpark
• Design and implement data integration workflows across Databricks, Azure Data Services, Snowflake, and other relational/cloud databases
• Write, tune, and optimize SQL queries for analytics and reporting
• Gather requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders to build scalable solutions
• Support data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data strategy, architecture, and pipeline optimization
• Build and maintain data orchestration processes using tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Azure Data Factory
• Create dashboards, metrics, and reports to provide actionable insights for clients
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and best practices for data engineering and analytics
• Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement across client projects

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL, or analytics
• Strong programming skills in Python and PySpark, Informatica, or similar tools
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and cloud databases
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure Data Services, Snowflake, or Redshift
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, and pipeline design
• Experience with test-driven development and data quality validation
• Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Autosys, Control M)
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently in a contract-based, project-driven environment

Nice to Have

• Experience leading or mentoring junior Data Engineers
• Knowledge of API development/consumption for batch or streaming data pipelines
• Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing analytics platforms
• Command-line interface experience for deployment and automation
• Data visualization experience using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
• Cloud experience on AWS or GCP in addition to Azure
